The media and tubes can be decontaminated in or with 10% bleach and discarded as normal.

Would we need to set up a Vet Portal for each doctor or just our hospital?

If you would like to set up accounts for the hospital, please send us a list of doctors' names and email addresses as well as any support staff who would need access to the Vet Portal. Each doctor can also register independently on the Vet Portal. Please note the report will be sent to the ordering veterinarian's email, not to all hospital accounts.

Can we select non-MDR substrate drugs for known or suspected MDR dogs?

Yes, you can select non-MDR1 drugs when indicating your drug priorities, but the final report will also include all drugs.

Does the ordering veterinarian have to be an oncologist?

No, any licensed veterinarian can order all ImpriMed's services.

What is a drug sensitivity test?

A drug sensitivity test is a lab test that measures how easily cells are killed by a drug.When you order a Personalized Prediction Profile, ImpriMed uses a proprietary high-throughput ex vivo drug sensitivity testing platform to analyze your patient’s live cells. For our canine leukemia and lymphoma service, we expose the cells to 13 different drugs commonly used to treat these diseases: L-Asparaginase, Mitoxantrone, Vincristine, Vinblastine, Doxorubicin, Rabacfosadine (Tanovea®), Chlorambucil, Mechlorethamine, Lomustine, Prednisolone (activated Prednisone), Mafosfamide (activated Cyclophosphamide), Melphalan, and Dexamethasone.-

I have a patient with likely lymphoma/leukemia. For a blood sample, can I just submit an EDTA blood tube or do I still use the ImpriMed tubes (and if so, how many tubes and is an additional EDTA blood tube still needed with that)?

If the patient is suspected of leukemia, blood collected in the EDTA tube should be fine. If it is lymphoma, we might need FNA from the affected organ/lymph node. We can suggest FNA in ImpriMed media tube (1) and 2ml of blood sample in an EDTA tube.
