The ImpriMed Immunoprofile report includes both our complete PARR and flow cytometry testing, as well as an expert interpretation of the results. This combined service includes cell size, clonality, and immunophenotype information that supports an accurate diagnosis of lymphoma and leukemia.
1. PARR (PCR for Antigen Receptor Rearrangement) assay is used to test for B-cell or T-cell clonality, and high-specificity detection of the presence of neoplasia.
2. Flow cytometry
Flow cytometry provides cell-sizing information and analyzes different proteins found on and within tumor cells that denotes immunophenotype. This test provides prognostic information for leukemia and lymphoma.
Sample Collection

The two tests provide complimentary and different information. PARR has high specificity but lower sensitivity. Flow cytometry has high sensitivity and specificity, but does not enable discrimination between neoplasia and reactive conditions. Together, the two tests enable a more accurate diagnosis.

For the correct classification of feline lymphoma, two critical factors are paramount: the anatomic form and the size of the lymphocytes. Our new Feline lymphoma/leukemia services enrich your patient care by integrating immunophenotyping and, importantly, precise cell sizing through flow cytometry.
We have developed a novel cell sizing technique using our expertise in flow cytometry and our extensive database of medical records with cytology/histology results from our feline lymphoma research efforts. Flow cytometry is a powerful tool to determine phenotype, cell granularity, and relative cell size. Our method leverages a comprehensive database of medical records and research findings. By comparing flow cytometry results with traditional gold standards (cytology or histology) used in these records, we have defined a method to assess lymphoma cells as small, medium, or large. This approach accurately categorizes lymphocyte size, as validated with an inter-laboratory comparison of our flow cytometry sizing and cytology provided by an accredited diagnostics laboratory.
Our novel cell sizing system for feline lymphoma provides an accurate and reproducible readout of this important characterization parameter for your patient’s lymphocytes.
